Step 3: Document Clinical Practice

Make sure you have completed at least 960 hours of clinical fieldwork, and it must be achieved through your university, at least, at a bachelor’s degree level. These hours are important for you to be able to meet the eligibility requirements and apply for the occupational therapy licensure examination and move on with process.

Your university will need to submit your official transcripts confirming bachelor's and master's or doctorate degrees in OT including clinical hours directly to the NBCOT. The forms can be found in Step 5.

Note: If you are hoping to do a bridge program, then you will need to keep your current license active until you receive the new one.
